on the road

Day 1 of solo ride. Walter loved it! Brief heart attack when he got
loose on road but man in truck helped head him off. Took lovely back
detour around Port Gibson. Stopped before all the way thru to give
Walter short 7 mile day. Rode with very loose cinch - new mohair roping cinch, with fleece cover complements of Dr. Debbie - and Sir Walter had no signs of swelling or soreness.

In house of neighbor also named Walter on advice of coming rain, mule in pasture of hosts Randy and Sandy Gerbitz who fed me great dinner. (More about them later. Randy and Sandy continued to help during ride up Hwy 61 and made my stay at Rainbow Farms even more friendly...) And the Miles' drove to Randy & Sandy's and brought hay!
